PRAY CONTINUALLY
1 Thessalonians 5:17
What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you…for you answer our prayers. All of us must come to you.
Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all…You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,
O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth. Psalm 65: 1-5
Prayer for Restoration
We live in a broken world full of evil, pain, sorrow, abuse and betrayal. How do we respond and how do we heal? How can we choose joy and forgiveness instead of becoming bitter and unforgiving? Jesus told us, “Here on earth you will have may trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. Jesus gives us the strength and healing to overcome.
“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
Daily Prayers
Prayer is communicating with God, talking and listening to Him. Jesus taught his followers how to pray and often prayed throughout the day. “Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.” Luke 5:16.
Daniel, a servant of God, was persecuted for praying to and worshipping only God Almighty and not King Darius. Daniel knew he could face torture and death in a lion’s den for praying to God. But in the midst of this persecution and trial, fearing the consequences, Daniel continued to pray any way. He did not stop his daily prayers.
“When Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room…he prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.” Daniel 6:10
During times of pain, sorrow and darkness, I relied heavily on prayer with the Lord. And continue to pray giving thanks and praises for his answers, like Daniel – morning, noon and night. In prayer, I’m reminded of God’s truths and my need for him.
