Peace in the Midst of Chaos

There are many of us who have been walking through pain, trauma, loss, rejection, betrayal, and grief. The response is often to panic and fear, attempting to figure out a solution or make rash decisions to run from the troubles and seek rest and peace. Even those who know God and have walked with him for years are now having a hard time trusting in him. Too many are just overwhelmed and tired of the storms.
A few months ago, in my morning time of prayer and worship, I came to the Lord praying for myself and others. I could feel the pain and weight of grief on so many as I felt my own pain. It felt like a dark storm all around me, wave after wave of sorrows and trauma in so many lives. As I shared my own troubles with the Lord, I felt an overwhelming fear and panic to “fix” things. But suddenly, I heard the Lord say, in my spirit, these words, “put down the bucket”, “put down the bucket!”

Distinct Lines are Drawn; Choose Where You Will Stand

While in a time of prayer, asking the Lord about his heart for his people this year, I heard these words – line of demarcation. I began to seek why these specific words. A line of demarcation is defined as a specific establishment of separating two groups or things. A border line dividing two distinct things. I sensed the Lord saying, “This year will be the year when God’s people need to make distinct decisions about where they stand in the culture, their relationships, their families and their lifestyles.”
